How CAN messages can be captured and analyzed?

Following free tools are provided for this purpose:

  • Windows users will find both BUSMASTER and CANHacker on the supplied CD and in download area
  • Linux users can use Wireshark to capture and analyze CAN messages(requires SocketCAN support)
In addition CAN messages that were captured in Linux can be then viewed via Windows version of Wireshark.
