On the VScom USB-COM, is it possible to use 9 data bits?

It is not possible to use more than 8 bits with the Windows Com Port driver.

This is primary by definition, since the Com Ports in Windows are defined as 8 bit devices. Consequently the driver does not support transmission of 9 bit data.

In a slow fashion this may be possible. As with Com1, where software uses the Parity Bit as Data Bit 9, the same can be used on USB-COM devices. However this will be very slow.

Further the hardware supports 7 and 8 data bits only.
