Can I change the name of the serial/parallel port?

In Device Manager select the "Multiport Serial Adapters", even when it is for a parallel port. In that section you'll find an entry for your card. Open this card properties, and select the Tab named 'Advanced'. Here you can change the number of the port.
This is also described in the manual, section 4.2 (especially 4.2.2).

Please note, this just changes the name of the port. It does not change address, IRQ or DMA channel.
